BMW has released a teaser video of the upcoming M5 to their YouTube channel. While the video doesn’t show much more than a speeding M5′s headlights flying by, we do get a good hear of the awesome 578hp twin-turbo V8 engine. Check out the video below and try to keep your excitement to a minimum!

BMW has a new concept roadster called Vision ConnectedDrive on display at the Geneva Motor Show. While this is not intended for production, it shows off some unique concepts for presenting information to the driver and keeping them connected to the world around them.
This system is smart enough to connect the gaps between a users calendar and their transportation needs. Based on this information, it can calculate the most efficient route to get from point A to point B, factoring in such variables as time of day, traffic conditions, tolls and other such factors. It can even locate a parking spot for the driver.
The passenger is not left out in the cold however, as they have a fully connected infotainment system available at their fingertips as well.
These technologies should be trickling down to consumer vehicles in the next few years so there are exciting things tome!

BMW is pushing the envelope of in-car connectivity with its BMW Connected platform. An application available for the Apple iPhone allows owners to interface with their vehicles and access web radio stations and hear twitter and Facebook updates read aloud to them by their vehicle.
Coming in March, the 1 series will be the first models to have the option to integrate with the BMW Connected platform. In addition to playing web radio stations and reading the social media updates, the car can automatically post updates on your behalf with such information as vehicle speed, current temperature or navigation destination.

BMW has announced the launch of a new sub brand that will be focused on high-tech, sustainability focused vehicles.
Called “i”, the brand will launch in 2013 with two models, the i3 and the i8. The i3 will be run entirely on electric power and is designed to be used in urban environments. The larger i8 however will be a hybrid design that will take advantage of the technologies developed in BMW’s Vision EfficientDynamics concept. The construction of the cars will utilize space age materials to minimize weight and maximize efficiency. These new materials are so advanced and light that they will cancel out the extra weight of the electric batteries. This will guarantee superior driving dynamics and preserve the BMW experience.
BMW will also be developing premium mobility services that will leverage smartphone technology and mobile devices to provide users with the ultimate experience while being extremely efficient.
